Digilent Pmod™ devices are line of small I/O interface boards that offer an ideal way to extend the capabilities of programmable logic and embedded control boards. They allow sensitive signal conditioning circuits and high-power drive circuits to be placed where they are most effective – near sensors and actuators. Pmods communicate with system boards using 6, 8, or 12-pin connectors that can carry multiple digital control signals, including SPI and other serial protocols.
The DesignSpark Pmod HAT Adapter makes it easy to connect Pmods to a Raspberry Pi. It supports plug-and-play functionality, only requiring that the host Raspberry Pi is booted with the Pmod HAT attached. The Pmod HAT has three 2×6 Pmod ports and provides access to additional I/O available via the Raspberry Pi 40-pin GPIO connector. Designed in collaboration with RS Components, users can take advantage of example Python libraries and demo tutorials hosted on DesignSpark. Discover the Pmod Python Libraries which provides the complete installation guides. You can add GPS, OLED display or microphone to the Raspberry Pi easily.
