GENESYS+™ serie: Ny generation programmerbar DC-strømforsyningsserie leverer 1,7kW – 5kW i 1U, 10kW i 2U og 15kW i 3U
TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda GENESYS+™ series of high power density programmable DC power supplies. Delivering 1.7kW – 5kW in 1U, 10kW in 2U and 15kW in 3U, the series addresses a very broad market including component, aerospace and automotive testing, semiconductor fabrication, battery and solar array simulation, plating and water treatment.
Housed in a 1U high, 19” (483mm) wide rack housing, the 5kW model offers the highest power density and weighs just 7.5kg, the lightest in the industry. Ten voltage models are available rated at 0-10V/500A, 0‑20V/250A, 0-30V/170A, 0-40V/125A, 0-60V/85A, 0-80V/65A, 0-100/50A, 0-150V/34A, 0-300V/17A and 0-600V/8.5A. They are offered with three-phase 170 to 265Vac, 342 to 460Vac or wide range 342 to 528Vac inputs, and all feature active Power Factor Correction.
The 1.7kW 1U model, weighing only 5kg, has been specifically developed with lower power applications in mind, such as use in research laboratories, and operates from a single-phase wide range AC input of 85 to 265Vac. Output voltage ratings are similar to the 5kW model, with versions ranging from 0-10V to 0-600V and supporting output currents from 0 – 2.8A to 0 – 170A. The GENESYS+™ GSP models address higher power levels, providing 10kW in 2U and 15kW in 3U form factors with output voltages and currents from 0-10V/1,500A to 0-600V/25.5A.
Utilising DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology, these next-generation GENESYS+™ units provide improved efficiency, performance and functionality over existing Genesys™ products, with efficiencies of up to 92%. All models can operate in constant voltage and constant current modes with automatic crossover and have an independently variable constant power limit. A variable internal resistance function is provided to simulate battery behaviour or voltage drop on long output cable runs. Arbitrary waveform profiles, for example car battery output voltage profile simulation at vehicle start up, of up to 100 steps can be generated and stored in four memory cells. These can be activated by commands from the communication ports or the front panel controls, allowing the user to quickly switch between programmes.
All GENESYS+™ models feature an easy to read LCD display with user controllable brightness and dimming functions for extended life. Additionally, they include faster up and down programming response times and user adjustable voltage and current slew rate control. The provision of two user programmable output open drain control pins can be used to activate external devices such as load disconnect or polarity reversal relays.
An advanced parallel master/slave system, unique to TDK-Lambda, allows a multi PSU system to achieve dynamic response and ripple and noise performance comparable to that of a single power supply. Up to four GENESYS+™ units (up to 20 kW) can be connected in parallel very simply by connecting a single data link cable between units and connecting the DC outputs in parallel. The master and slave units auto configure by detecting the parallel data connection and set their parameters accordingly. The master unit becomes the single point for programming, measurement and provision of system status for the total current of the paralleled system. For paralleling GENESYS+™ GSP units, please consult with the factory directly.
The new series is compatible with both the TDK-Lambda Genesys™ and Z+ models, using the same communication protocols and signals. All functions can be programmed via the front panel or remotely using the LAN (LXI 1.5), USB 2.0 or RS232/485 communications interfaces, which are provided as standard (SCPI compliant). An isolated analogue control and monitoring interface (0 – 5 or 0 – 10V scale) is also provided. The product design includes options for GPIB (IEEE488.2) and the Anybus CompactCom interface platform for DeviceNet™, EtherCat, Modbus, PROFIBUS and other interface options as they are released. A full package of software drivers, a waveform creator, and a virtual front panel GUI are provided in the software package.
Safety features include Safe/Auto Re-Start, Last Setting Memory and built-in protective functions. With Safe-Start configured, the power supply will return to its last operational settings after a power interruption but with the output disabled, which is useful for laser applications. With Auto Re-Start, the power supply returns to the last used operation settings after a power interruption for situations where no user intervention is preferred. Last Setting Memory retains settings such as the output voltage/current, output on/off, OVP/UVL level, Fold-Back and Start-Up mode at each AC input turn-off sequence, even after extended periods of storage or non-use. Built-in protective functions include over voltage protection (OVP), under voltage limit (UVL), fold-back protection (FOLD) and over-temperature protection (OTP).
The five-year warranty series is safety certified to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1, CE marked to the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directives, and conforms to the industrial IEC/EN 61326 1 standard for conducted EMI, radiated EMI and EMC immunity.
