Mouser Electronics Launches New Extensive Hardware Projects Resource Centre
Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, is introducing its comprehensive hardware projects resource centre, empowering engineers to design and build innovative physical solutions from the ground up. With the availability of open-source architectures like RISC-V and advanced components such as microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators, creating custom hardware tailored to specific needs has become more accessible than ever. Engineers can now undertake a wide range of projects, from building home automation systems and weather stations to designing robots and wearable devices. These projects are among those featured:
The Smart Edge ML with NXP FRDM-MCXN947 project brings machine-learning capabilities to edge devices. By shifting computations to local devices, this project aims to address latency, privacy, and bandwidth concerns, enabling real-time insights. The MCX N Series FRDM development boards by NXP are utilised for this project as cost-effective, compact, and scalable boards powered by MCUXpresso to provide a rapid prototyping platform.
The Mastering Multi-Axis Robotics project guides users through the configuration and control of a robotic arm using the Kria KR260 Robotics Starter Kit from AMD. The KR260 kit is specifically designed for robotics and machine vision, targeting factory automation, communication, control, and vision tasks.
The project Neighbors Helping Neighbors discusses how using products most consumers already own, such as Amazon Echo and Ring, can provide and extend low-bandwidth, long-range wireless network technology outside of the home, revolutionising the concept of a smart home and a smart neighborhood. The project uses the Pro Kit for Amazon Sidewalk from Silicon Labs, which comes pre-programmed with Amazon Sidewalk firmware and Amazon Web Services (AWS) pre-registration, instantly and securely connecting users in a few minutes.
The Enhancing Real-World Applications with Time-of-Flight (ToF) Sensors project explores the use of ToF sensors for quick and accurate distance measurements, which can improve capabilities in fields like robotics, augmented reality, and automotive. The project utilises the TMF8821-SHIELD Sensor Development Board from ams OSRAM, an Arduino-compatible platform for evaluating the TMF8821 multi-zone dToF sensor. It is designed to work with various MCU hardware platforms. Additionally, the project employs the LPCXpresso55S69 development board from NXP, which is fully supported by the MCUXpresso tool suite for rapid development and configuration.
