- New Product – Mouser Now Stocking Microchip Technology PolarFire SoC Discovery Kit for IoT and Edge Communication Applications
Mouser is now stocking the PolarFire SoC Discovery Kit from Microchip Technology. This Discovery Kit is based on the PolarFire MPFS095T system-on-chip (SoC) FPGA, featuring an embedded quad 64-bit RISC-V core complex and 95,000 high-performance logic elements, for powerful computing performance with best-in-class power efficiency and security. The PolarFire board includes 1 GB of DDR4 memory, a microSD card slot, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and additional interfaces with hardware expansion options, including headers for MikroElektronika Click Boards™, 40-pin Raspberry Pi HATs and MIPI® video, all controllable via I2C and SPI protocols for rapid prototyping. The Discovery kit also includes an onboard FlashPro5 programmer and a preloaded DSPF FIR filter to program, debug and showcase the embedded math block capabilities of the PolarFire FPGA through the USB-to-JTAG channel. This Discovery Kit is optimised for rapid development of embedded systems for industrial automation, edge communications, Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, smart vision, and many other compute-intensive applications.

- New Awards – Mouser’s Marketing Communications Team Wins 10 Telly Awards for Excellence in Video Content
Mouser announced that several of its marketing videos have been honoured with a collection of Ten Telly Awards for exemplary branded content. Kevin Hess, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Mouser Electronics, thanked the Telly Awards organisation for this important recognition and congratulated Mouser’s Marcom team and agency partners on this achievement. Mouser’s Forbidden Places Marketing Campaign garnered four Telly Awards. It won a gold Telly for branded content/video/cinematography, along with a silver Telly for branded content/general/B2B, a silver Telly for branded content/writing, as well as a bronze Telly for branded content/general branding. Mouser’s ongoing Empowering Innovation Together (EIT) technology series, including the episodes on Digital Therapeutics and Green Energy Storage Systems, won a total of three silver Telly Awards in the following categories: branded content/campaign/branding and branded content/general science and technology. For its video trailer teaser, Mouser picked up another silver Telly in the branding category. Finally, Mouser scored two bronze Telly Awards for its videos on Inventory Management and Price and Availability Assistant Tools for branded content/general/products and services.

- New Product – Mouser Now Shipping u-blox NORA-W30 Multiprotocol Modules for Efficient Wireless Connectivity
Mouser is now stocking the NORA-W30 multiprotocol modules from u-blox. The NORA-W30 modules support Wi-Fi 4 on both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. The modules can function as a Wi-Fi station connecting to a remote access point or act as an access point. These modules are Bluetooth® Low Energy-qualified and can assume central or peripheral roles or both simultaneously. The modules feature a dual-core microcontroller with an Arm® Cortex®-M33 compatible processor for main applications and an Arm Cortex-M23 compatible processor for low-power operations. The NORA-W30 modules offer a robust collection of hardware security features. The NORA-W30 multiprotocol modules are offered in two variants. NORA-W306 comes with an internal PCB antenna, while NORA-W301 has a module pin to connect to an external antenna of choice. The internal PCB antenna provides a robust, low-profile solution with high performance and an extensive range. The NORA-W30 series is globally certified for use with the internal antenna or a range of external antennas. This reduces time, cost, and effort for customers who are integrating Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE into their designs. The NORA-W30 devices support a range of applications, including industrial automation, metering and utilities, healthcare, smart homes, and electrical vehicle charging.
