  • New Product – Mouser Now Stocking DISPLAY VISIONS EA PLCC28, Adding Smart Visuals to Industrial Control

Mouser is now offering the EA PLCC28 programmable logic controller from DISPLAY VISIONS. This new PLC series expands the classic small control unit in the control cabinet with an integrated colour touchscreen display and enables visualisation on up to 50 satellite displays. This makes this PLC ideal for a wide range of AVIoT, home and industrial applications where it is important to be able to process, enter and visualise data from multiple locations. The EA PLCC28 is simple to use and displays measurements and data on a 2.8″ in-plane switching (IPS) display (320 × 240) with a projected capacitive (PCAP) touch panel. The EA PLCC28 offers eight digital inputs, four relay outputs, four analogue inputs (0-10V or 4-20mA), Wi-Fi, RS-232, RS-485 and Ethernet. The Wi-Fi, RS-485 and Ethernet are reserved for the interconnection to the satellite displays. The PLC core connects easily to the satellite terminals, and measured values and parameters are updated automatically to the connected displays. Satellite terminals allow users to visualise and enter process data at various locations. The EA PLCC28 is easily programmed using the free PLCdesigner tool. This user-friendly software boasts a drag-and-drop interface and includes many ready-made elements, letting users build custom pages in a flash.

  • New Distribution Agreement – Mouser Announces Global Distribution Agreement with AIRMAR to Deliver Rugged Industrial and Environmental Sensor Solutions

Mouser announces a new global distribution agreement with Amphenol Company, AIRMAR Technology, a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance sensors for marine and industrial applications. AIRMAR specialises in advanced ultrasonic transducers, electromagnetic flow sensors, and sensor monitoring systems targeted at commercial fishing, meteorology, ocean survey, and industrial process control markets. The ultrasonic WeatherStation instruments provide accurate, reliable weather data from a rugged, compact design with no moving parts. These all-in-one multisensors can measure real-time apparent wind speed and direction, air temperature and calculated wind chill, barometric pressure, relative humidity, calculated dew point and heat index. The AIRDUCER® ultrasonic industrial transducers are suitable for a wide variety of applications and environments. These transducers deliver proven non-contact sensing performance for level and flow measurement of liquids or bulk solids, for process control in distance measurements, part monitoring, and proximity sensing. Unlike most alternative measurement solutions, these ultrasonic transducers can detect clear, transparent or shiny objects and are unaffected by colour. They operate within a frequency range of 15 kHz to 1 MHz and achieve a sensing range from 5 cm (2 in) to 60 m (196.85 ft).

The i.MX 93 applications processors provide power-efficient acceleration with NXP’s integrated EdgeLock® secure enclave, a preconfigured, self-managed and autonomous security subsystem, to support energy-efficient ML and edge computing. The i.MX 93 processors integrate the scalable Arm® Cortex®-A55 core and the Arm Ethos™-U65 microNPU, allowing developers to create more capable, cost-effective, and energy-efficient ML applications. A 250 MHz Arm Cortex -M33 processor performs time-critical, real-time compute and control that can eliminate the need for an external microcontroller in the system design. The NXP i.MX 93 applications processors feature MIPI-CSI and parallel image sensor interfaces, along with the NPU, to support both monochrome and RGB vision applications. NXP’s innovative Energy Flex architecture features a rich and power-efficient set of interfaces, including two 1GbE, multiple audio channels, and multiple display interfaces for a wide range of applications, including smart home, smart city, factory automation, and audio soundbars.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Offering Littelfuse’s TTape Distributed Temperature Monitoring Device for Automotive, EVs/HEVs, Industrial, and Energy Storage and Harvesting Applications

Mouser is now shipping the TTape™ distributed temperature monitoring device (DTMD) from Littelfuse. TTape is a state-of-the-art distributed temperature monitoring platform tailored for Li-ion battery packs found in automotive, consumer, electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles (EV/HEV), industrial and energy storage and harvesting applications. TTape is engineered to detect the slightest temperature variations across battery cells by providing real-time data to prevent potential thermal runaways, fires or explosions. Littelfuse’s TTape is designed to detect these hotspots early, enabling timely intervention. This DTMD offers over-temperature monitoring for multiple cells or large areas with a singular microcontroller (MCU) input that can trigger the MCU to exit sleep mode during over-temperature events. It is also compatible with existing battery management systems (BMSs) that utilise NTC thermistors, ensuring a seamless integration process without extensive modifications. With a single TTape device, multiple cells can be monitored, thus alerting the BMS sooner in case of overtemperature scenarios. TTape does not require any calibration or temperature look-up tables and comes with a pressure-sensitive adhesive for simple and quick installation. With a response time of less than one second, TTape guarantees quicker alerts, signalling the potential onset of thermal runaway conditions.
