  • New Product – Mouser Now Stocking Silicon Labs’ EFR32xG22E Wireless Gecko SoCs, Streamlining Energy Harvesting for Battery-Free IoT Devices

Mouser is now shipping the EFR32xG22E wireless Gecko system-on-chip (SoC) series from Silicon Labs. The EFR32xG22E is Silicon Lab’s most energy-efficient wireless SoC to date, designed to operate in the ultra-low-power envelope required for battery-free energy harvesting. The Silicon Labs EFR32xG22E wireless Gecko SoCs allow users to develop Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE), 802.15.4-based or proprietary 2.4GHz wireless devices for IoT applications that harvest energy from external sources. The EFR32xG22E wireless Gecko SoC family consists of three variants: the EFR32BG22E, the EFR32MG22E, and the EFR32FG22E. Each variant features an integrated Arm® Cortex® M4 MCU and a high-performance 2.4GHz radio. The EFR32xG22 SoCs are ideal for devices that require immediate activation and efficient power management, featuring EM4 wake-up of 1.83 milliseconds and power consumption of just 16.6 microjoules (µJ). The SoCs also support multiple power sources and power management devices, allowing users to explore new battery technologies such as supercapacitors. The SoCs are supported by the xG22 Development Tools: the EFR32xG22E wireless Gecko radio boards and starter kit.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Shipping TDK InvenSense’s IIM-42653 SmartIndustrial MotionTracking Device, Delivering Reliable Precision in Industrial Applications

Mouser is now stocking the IIM-42653 SmartIndustrial™ MotionTracking device from TDK InvenSense. The IIM-42653 integrates a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer into a compact 2.5 mm x 3 mm x 0.91 mm package. The IIM-42653, which features an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, is 20,000g shock tolerant. The device supports an extended full-scale range of up to 32g and 4000dps, suitable for demanding industrial conditions. The IIM-42653 features a 2KBytes FIFO that reduces energy consumption by allowing the system processor to read sensor data and then switch to low-power mode. The sensor supports a highly accurate external clock input that is beneficial for robotics, tilt sensing, and other applications that require precise navigation and orientation measurements. For communication, the IIM-42653’s host interface can support i3CSM, I2C, and SPI modes, with respective maximum speeds of 12.5MHz, 1MHz, and 24MHz. The IIM-42653 device has an operating voltage range of 1.71V to 3.6V. Ideal applications include navigation, orientation measurements, platform stabilisation, and robotics. The IIM-42653 is supported by the TDK InvenSense DK-42653 development kit.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Offering Samtec’s URSA Ultra Rugged I/O System for Reliability and Longevity in Harsh Environments

Mouser is now shipping the URSA® ultra-rugged I/O system from Samtec. Featuring hyperboloid contact, the URSA ultra-rugged I/O system provides reliable connectivity and exceptionally high mating cycles. The URSA series offers a durable cable-to-cable and cable-to-board solution for military and aerospace applications, submersibles, and other harsh environments. The URSA ultra-rugged I/O system establishes four points of contact for consistent connectivity, ideal for challenging operational conditions. The micro 1mm pitch and space-saving double-row design allow for extreme density, supporting up to 1,450 input/output connections in a one-rack unit panel. Samtec’s ultra-rugged solutions undergo additional testing beyond typical industry standards. The URSA I/O system boasts a number of hardened features, including captive panel screws, strain relief, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding to limit signal degradation and optimise performance. The URSA ultra-rugged I/O system product range includes cable assemblies, connectors, housings, crimp contacts, and crimp terminals.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Stocking Ezurio’s Nitrogen8ULP SOM, Providing Low-Power Processing for Embedded Applications

Mouser is now offering the Nitrogen8ULP system-on-module (SOM) from Ezurio. Combined with the Ezurio 8ULP carrier board, the Nitrogen8ULP serves as a single board computer (SBC) that significantly accelerates time to market. The Nitrogen8ULP SOM is powered by NXP Semiconductors’ i.MX 8ULP processors, featuring dual Arm® Cortex®-A35 cores and an Arm Cortex-M33. This architecture allows the module to run Linux on the Cortex-A35 cores and FreeRTOS on the Cortex-M33 core. The Nitrogen8ULP SOM includes a Fusion digital signal processor (DSP) for low-power audio processing, a HiFi4 DSP for advanced audio and machine learning tasks, and additional coprocessors for efficient DSP and cryptographic functionalities. The module supports a range of high-speed connectivity options and provides interfaces for data, network, display, and camera. The Nitrogen8ULP features a compact form factor and supports a broad temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. With a more than 10-year product life cycle, the Nitrogen8ULP SOM is a reliable choice for long-term deployments. The ultra-low-power SOM is a versatile embedded computing solution for energy meters and storage, smart building and smart city applications, medical devices, and commercial food and beverage equipment.
