  • New Product – Mouser Now Offering Bosch’s BME690 Air Quality Sensor, Providing Environmental Sensing with Advanced AI

Mouser is now stocking the BME690 air quality sensor from Bosch. The four-in-one MEMS sensor effectively detects volatile organic compounds (VOCs), volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs), and other gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The BME690 sensor can also be used for breath analysis and to reduce food waste through early spoilage detection. This sensor simultaneously measures air pressure, gas, humidity, and temperature. The BME690 is an advanced version of the BME688 and BME680 devices optimised for use in environments with high levels of condensation. This sensor offers a simple drop-in upgrade, maintaining pin compatibility and the same dimensions as the previous models. The BME690 air quality sensor supports plug-and-play operation and includes advanced AI features powered by Bosch Sensortec’s BME AI-Studio software tool, which enables developers to train the sensor on their specific application. The sensor reduces power consumption by up to 50% compared to previous generations. The BME690 is fully aligned with WELL and RESET standards for indoor air quality. This air quality sensor supports a range of applications, including wearables, smart home appliances, and mobile and card devices. The BME690 is supported by the BME690 Shuttle Board, which is available to order from Mouser.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Shipping iWave Systems’ iW-RainboW-G36M Zynq Ultrascale+ SOMs For High-Performance Computing

Mouser is now offering the iW-RainboW-G36M Zynq®  Ultrascale+ system-on-modules (SOM) from iWave Systems. These SOMs are based on the Zynq® Ultrascale+ multiprocessor systems-on-chips (MPSoC) from AMD. The Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoCs combine real-time control with soft and hard engines for graphic, video, waveform, and packet processing. The MPSoCs feature a dual or quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A53 application processing unit or a video codec unit, depending on the variant. The SOMs include 2GB of 64-bit PS DDR4 RAM for processing and 2GB of 16-bit PL DDR4 RAM dedicated to programmable logic, both of which can be upgraded to further enhance performance. Onboard memory includes an optional 256MB QSPI flash, 16GB eMMC flash (expandable up to 128GB) for boot and storage, and EEPROM (4kbit). The SOMs also feature four high-speed transceiver lanes supporting up to 12.5Gb/s, an integrated Gigabit Ethernet PHY, and a USB 2.0 transceiver. The iW-RainboW-G36M SOMs support both RGMII and ULPI interfaces for versatile connectivity. These SOMs meet the functional requirements of high-performance embedded applications, including automotive systems, AI and machine learning, industrial automation, medical devices, and robotics. Mouser also offers development kits enabling quick validation for the iW-RainboW-G36M SOM.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Stocking Vishay RAIK060 Rotational Absolute Inductive Kit Encoders for Automation, Motor Drives and Robotics

Mouser is now shipping RAIK060 rotational absolute inductive kit encoders from Vishay. Designed specifically for the accurate positioning of motor drives, industrial robotics and industrial motion control, the RAIK060 is a patented, off-axis rotational absolute inductive kit encoder that provides high repeatability, precision and high resolution in a single or multi-turns variant. These encoders deliver rotation speeds up to 10,000 rpm and a latency time of less than or equal to 5 µs to allow for faster motor drive calculation processes. The repeatability of these position sensors is specified at greater than or equal to 17 bits, with overall accuracy at 13 bits and an encoder resolution of 18 bits. To increase reliability, the RAIK060 offers built-in self-monitoring and memorisation of its last position before powering off. Available outputs of the RAIK060 include an SPI, SSI and BiSS-C interface with single and multi-turn variants. Other notable features include embedded self-calibration, a useful 360° electrical mechanical angle and easy assembly flexibility through status LED colours. Built for operating in even the harshest environments, RAIK060 encoders are not sensitive to moisture, pollution, temperature, vibrations or shock. The encoders are also insensitive to external magnetic fields (no Hall effect cells), electrical fields and temperature, making them ideal for designs that require close proximity to electrical motors.
