Why is it that two to three respins of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs during New Product Introduction (NPI) are expected rather than the exception?

Design for Manufacturing (DFM) software identifies aspects of a PCB design that can cause yield, cost or reliability issues in manufacturing. Historically, many OEMs relied on their manufacturing partners to perform DFM on their designs. But how many OEMs actually conduct DFM analysis themselves during the design stage and what benefits do they derive by doing so?

This report will examine the current state of the PCB industry and explore the challenges the industry is currently facing and identify how DFM can manage those challenges.
